The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Women United for Economic Empowerment, a non-Governmental Organization dedicated to empowering women through education, advocacy, community support, and health. The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing program development, fundraising, community outreach, financial management, and ensuring the organization achieves its
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy
Develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Executive director Emeritus.
Serve as the primary spokesperson, representing the organization in public forums, media, and community engagements.
Foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation within the organization.
Stay informed about issues affecting women and advocate for policy changes aligned with the organization’s mission.
Program Development and Management
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that support the organization’s mission.
Ensure programmatic excellence, alignment with goals, and measurable outcomes.
Build partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
Fundraising and Financial Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including grants, donations, sponsorships, and events.
Build relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors to secure sustainable funding.
Prepare and manage the organization’s annual budget, ensuring financial stability and transparency.
Oversee financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
Board Relations
Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, Executive director emeritus and staff.
Support the Board in governance, strategic decision-making, and fundraising efforts.
Provide regular updates on organizational performance and key initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
Promote professional growth and ensure staff have the resources needed to succeed.
Foster a positive, mission-driven workplace culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, business administration, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
At least 5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit or similar organization, preferably focused on women’s issues.
Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation and oversight.
Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to women’s empowerment and social justice.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of nonprofit governance and compliance.
Experience with strategic planning and program evaluation.
Familiarity with digital tools for nonprofit management, including CRM and fundraising platforms.
